Still smiling 24 years after joining the Lepori team

When Accounts Manager Wendee Martin joined the Lepori team 24 years ago, she was working out of the basement of Frank Lepori’s house, and the rest of the 15-person staff worked in the field as craftsmen. “I was the only girl for at least nine years,” recalls Wendee. She could say she was the only cowgirl, because she handled an open range of accounting and administrative responsibilities to help shape the system we have today, which currently has 73 employees and more than $60,000,000 in work underway.

“When I started, I used Master Builder in a dos version, because we didn’t have Windows yet,” she adds. “We have constantly improved and expanded systems over the years.” Today, Wendee also keeps books for more than a dozen sister companies in the Lepori family, and she has talented administrators working with her.

When asked if it ever gets old keeping track of so many details, Wendee is quick with a smile. “The atmosphere here with great coworkers has always made this a wonderful place to come to work. I do my best to keep a smile on my face even through the super busy days, which is almost every day now. LOL. Frank has been and is an awesome boss, and watching his kids grow up from when they were little has been a blessing. I can truly say the Lepori Family is family to me. “

“I feel fortunate to have an employee like Wendee who has been so loyal and trustworthy and able to handle so many different challenges over the year,” says Frank Lepori. “Wendee is a big part of our hard working, family culture. We were pleased to add her daughter Kaitlyn to our team recently. Kaitlyn was a toddler when Wendee joined us, and now she’s a UNR College of Business graduate who brings us lots of new energy.”

Wendee adds that “being a part of FLC for 24 years and watching it grow to where it is today is amazing, and I congratulate Frank in all he does for his company and his employees.”
